So now that the shelves in the grocery store are stocked up again, it is important to get our shelves stocked in our homes too, so that no matter what happens in the world around us, we are not in fear about what we are going to eat.

A good friend of mine Meg aka @moremomma has inspired me so much. She wrote a blogpost that had me determined to follow her example. She simplified the process of stocking up and helped me to create a list of foods that I can stock up on too. Her family is not gluten free so I pulled some of her recipes and tweaked them a bit to ensure that they are safe for us!

Go read her blogpost and then come back here to see what I have done in our home.

I have 12 dinner meals below. I have multiplied each one by 10. So now I have 120 meals for my family. Actual meals that we all would eat. Actual meals that we eat regularly. This is just smart to do anyways to have food on hand that you never HAVE to go to the store on those crazy days that you go home to find an empty fridge. You have meals in an instant. I have to say, I did this 2 weeks ago and I have already pulled from these meals 2 times. Why not? It is a brilliant and easy planned meal! And I am aware of what I take out of my food storage and replace it the next time I am at the store!

Get creative, think of other recipes you can stock pile on. Or even pick 7 of mine and multiply that by how ever many weeks you want to have food storage for. That way every day of the week is accounted for. Mondays are spaghetti nights, Tuesday Taco Bowls etc…

For example: Buying 10 boxes of pasta, 10 sauces and 10 cans of green beans is so easy to do. Think of it, even if there are no emergencies (although that is highly unlikely) you are set up for success in your regular meal planning! You could even go all out and get a year supply of these meals… so that would be 52 boxes of pasta etc. But it is actual food that you know how to cook, that is safe to eat, that your family enjoys.

Here are the meals that I have personally stock piled on and now I am not fearful of anything going on outside of my home. We are prepared! I don’t have to fear! What a blessing. I hope this helps you and your family to get prepared and not fear as well.
